I have lived in Thurmaston for over 40 years, raising my children and now watching my grandchildren grow up here. Over that time, I’ve seen our village change and develop, and I’ve always worked to make sure those changes benefit the community.
I currently serve as Chair of Trustees for the Thurmaston Community Centre and Volunteer Managed Library, helping to lead its redevelopment into a modern hub for local people. I’m also a Governor at Church Hill Junior School, a Charnwood Borough Councillor, and a Leicestershire County Councillor for Hamilton Lea, Thurmaston, Barkby, Barkby Thorpe, Beeby, South Croxton and Thorpebury.
My first steps into community life began with Thurmaston Action Group, and I’ve been involved in many local campaigns since, from improving highways and planning issues to supporting families, older residents, and young people.
I’m passionate about Thurmaston’s heritage and the way our village has grown, from the days of gravel pits to the creation of Watermead Country Park, to the thriving retail and community areas we see today. Most of all, I care about people — helping residents with concerns, celebrating our achievements, and making sure Thurmaston continues to be a vibrant, welcoming place to live.
