I am the Deputy Leader of the Melton Conservative Group and Shadow Spokesperson for the Finance Director, as well as the portfolio holder for finance. I have over 50 years of experience as a Senior Accountant at Melton Borough Council, so I am fully aware of its internal workings, etc. I have led the Count for all the current elections, so I have a great deal of experience in that field.
I regularly attend meetings with other group leaders and hold frequent discussions with the Conservative group leader and the Chief Executive. I was elected in 2019 and have lived in the Ward my entire life. Whenever possible, I attend parish council meetings for Gaddesby PC and Burton & Dalby PC, and I speak at Appeal Hearings and Planning Committee meetings regarding applications in the Ward.
I am so lucky to have lived in Gaddesby Ward all my life. Having worked for Melton Borough Council for 50 years, I have seen first-hand how hard Councillors work for their wards. I assure everyone that I will strive to deliver the outcomes and improvements to services that residents want and expect. I want to build on past achievements, and, of course, the relief road and its future are of great importance to us. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place, but parts are spoilt by fly-tipping and dog fouling, both of which I will be able to act upon as your councillor. I will ensure that I put residents of my Ward first, so do please get in touch with me on any issues."
In addition to my political work, I have many interests, including football, cricket, and horse racing. I am proud to serve as the President of the Great Dalby Cricket Club.
